Description

Gatexon™ SB 1.5 is a broad-spectrum injectable antibiotic combination containing a third-generation cephalosporin (Ceftriaxone) and a beta-lactamase inhibitor (Sulbactam). Designed for severe and multi-drug resistant infections, it effectively inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis while neutralizing bacterial enzymes that cause resistance, ensuring high therapeutic efficacy in hospital and clinical settings.

Composition (Per Single-Dose Vial)

  • Ceftriaxone Sodium (Sterile) IP: Equivalent to Anhydrous Ceftriaxone $1000\text{ mg}$ ($1\text{ g}$)

  • Sulbactam Sodium (Sterile) IP: Equivalent to Anhydrous Sulbactam $500\text{ mg}$ ($0.5\text{ g}$)

  • Diluent Included: 1 FFS Ampoule of Sterile Water for Injections IP ($10\text{ ml}$)

Key Benefits

  • Synergistic Action: Sulbactam protects Ceftriaxone from enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamases, significantly broadening its antibacterial spectrum.

  • Severe Infection Relief: Indicated for severe lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, septicemia, meningitis, and bone/joint infections.

  • Surgical Prophylaxis: Effective as a perioperative preventive agent against surgical site infections.
